What was announced

IRCC held Express Entry round 450 on October 16, 2026 for the French-language proficiency category. The tie-breaking rule was October 6, 2026 at 21:31:22 UTC. Among candidates at the cut-off score, profile-submission timing determined ranking.

The French-language category requires approved French test results at NCLC 7 or higher in all four abilities, eligibility for an Express Entry program and compliance with the round’s instructions. A qualifying French score alone does not guarantee an invitation.

What this may mean for applicants

Invited candidates should check their IRCC account and prepare a complete application within the 60-day period. Confirm that language results, work history and other profile claims remain valid and supported. An invitation is not permanent residence approval.
