IRCC issued 3,500 invitations in a trades occupations category-based round held October 1, 2026. The CRS cut-off was 476.
What was announced
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada held a category-based Express Entry round for trades occupations on October 1, 2026. IRCC issued 3,500 invitations to apply, and the lowest-ranked candidate invited had a Comprehensive Ranking System score of 476.
Category-based selection does not replace the basic Express Entry requirements. A candidate must remain eligible for an Express Entry program and satisfy the category rules in effect for the round. Draw sizes and cut-off scores can change from one round to another.
What this may mean for applicants
Candidates should confirm that their occupation, work experience and profile information match the current category requirements. An invitation generally starts a limited application period, so supporting records should be prepared before a draw whenever possible.
