New Brunswick update

New Brunswick Eases AIP Occupation Restrictions

Effective October 14, 2026, New Brunswick removed additional Atlantic Immigration Program occupation restrictions. Important exclusions and overseas recruitment limits remain.

Restricted occupations4 NOC codes
TEER 5 jobsNot eligible
New employer designationsIntake still paused

What was announced

New Brunswick now permits AIP endorsement submissions across occupations except NOC 14400 (shippers and receivers), 60030 (restaurant and food service managers), 62020 (food service supervisors) and 94142 (fish and seafood plant workers). TEER 5 occupations remain ineligible.

For candidates residing outside Canada, endorsement submissions remain limited to government-led recruitment initiatives in health care, education and construction. New employer designation intake remains paused for the rest of 2026. Eligibility does not guarantee selection for processing.

What this may mean for applicants

Before relying on this change, check the employer’s designation, occupation code, candidate’s location and all AIP requirements. An endorsement submission does not extend work authorization. These changes concern New Brunswick’s AIP, not every provincial stream.
