What was announced

The Newfoundland and Labrador Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism reported 126 invitations to apply in its October 16, 2026 selection batch. Of these, 125 invitations were issued under the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program and 1 was issued under the Atlantic Immigration Program.

The province uses an Expression of Interest model for economic immigration applications. It may prioritize health and health-related occupations, rural and regional jobs, selected underrepresented occupations, candidates with strong provincial ties, Newfoundland and Labrador graduates, Francophone candidates and employers with a strong compliance and retention record.

The published criteria are considered together and are not exhaustive. Meeting one or more priorities does not guarantee an invitation, and the province may adjust priorities based on labour-market needs and available nomination spaces.

What this may mean for applicants

An invitation allows the selected person or employer to submit the applicable provincial application; it is not a nomination or permanent residence approval. Confirm the relevant NLPNP or AIP requirements, job and employer eligibility, and supporting documents before applying.
